2018 - The Crossing Church Garage Sale
Summer days in Sequim are never complete without garage sales, but one
thing is for certain, none blessed the
Sequim Food Bank
like the one held by
The Crossing Church
on September 15th , the last Saturday in Summer 2018. From furniture to appliances to clothes
and baby strollers, everyone, who joined in, was blessed. The food lines
ran long at times at the Promise of Life Café as we teamed up to serve
hamburgers and give away free Gospels of John at the event. The Lord is
good; He held the rain at bay and raised roughly $1,200.00 for the
Sequim Food Bank
. A special thanks to Tricia and Sid Vandiver for organizing this outreach
and to
The Crossing Church
and
Olympic View Church of God
for hosting it. We are already looking forward to next summer’s garage
sale!

2018 - Sequim Street Ministry
On Saturdays Gospels of John and Jesus film DVD’s are passed out to visitors to Sequim Farmers Market. Seeds are planted and there are opportunities to share one’s faith with unbelievers and encourage Christians to witness in their circle. When the market closes for the winter, we move to a park on the main street in Sequim. On Halloween we will pass out about 1200 Halloween tracts with candy packets in downtown Sequim. The day Santa comes to downtown Sequim, we will be passing out Christmas tracts with candy canes.

Supernatural Lectures
The last Monday evening of the month we present a supernatural lecture at the Sequim Public Library to unbelievers. They are warned about the evil supernatural and told about the good supernatural, including the Gospel and are invited to accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord. There are believers sprinkled in the audience to help make contacts as the meeting breaks up. It is amazing how a new group of needy people shows up each month. . Next year we are expanding to include a monthly lecture at the Port Angeles Public Library.

Palm Sunday Parade & Metanoia Northwest
Our small team of co-workers in Christ have continued to publicly share the Gospel on a weekly basis in Port Townsend on Water Street along with several special outreaches. The special outreaches include a Halloween outreach to over 1000 people each year in Port Townsend where we pass out Gospels of John to adults and tract paks for the young people; a similar event for the Tree lighting ceremony in Port Townsend during on the first Saturday of December; the Palm Sunday parade in Port Townsend in which the Christian community is invited to join in to publicly proclaim Christ over Jefferson county. This event usually has about 50-80 participants depending on the spring weather. In the spring on the first Thursday of May we also host a small gathering of praying believers at the Jefferson County courthouse for National Day of Prayer. These events along with video support of other ministry out reaches and prayer with Clallam county ministers comprise most of our activities each year. The video work continues on the public access TV stations in Port Townsend, Port Angeles and on You Tube.
We thank the Lord for being able to partner with The True Vine Fellowship team. We thank The True Vine fellowship for supplying over a thousand copies of the Gospel of John each year and Donna Spivey in Sequim for distributing to us hundreds of copies of the Jesus Film which is also passed out on the peninsula and other counties during summer months.
Special thanks goes out to Mark McGriff, Gary Todd, Don Saunders and Barbara Bottomly for the street outreach work. Thanks also goes out to many others who volunteer each year to help put together the Palm Sunday parade in Port Townsend.

Family Fun Fest
Since 2006 The Crossing Church has reached out to less fortunate families in our community with food, fun and the gospel. This year marked the first time the Promise of Life Café provided food service for this important event; our team served roughly 300 hamburgers and 200 hot dogs in a span of 2 ½ hours (Rumor has it we had a couple of ringers working the behind the scenes, Professional Chef Ted Bisson and Brianna Palenik.). Pastor Dave Burrows and Dennis Beguelin walked the Pumpkin Patch sharing the Gospel of John and their love for the Lord with the families who participated in the event. To no one’s surprise, the brothers and sisters of the Crossing, both young and old, worked the carnival games serving extra large helpings of kindness and grace. A special thanks to Pastor Burrows and Charrise Beguelin for organizing this event. If you or your church fellowship would like to be a part of this outreach in 2019, contact Dave Burrows at the Crossing Church.

Jammin’ at the Park
All of us miss Pastor Dave Rich and his lovely bride Debbie; thanks to his leadership, Harbor of Hope has a rich tradition of outreach within the Port Angeles and Sequim communities. Both Dave and Debbie are now safely in Colorado Springs, Colorado attending seminary. The Lord in His goodness has already provided new leadership for Harbor of Hope, Pastor JR and his wife Shana Van Proyen. During this transition, a special thanks to River Sussman and Jack Worman for organizing and leading this year’s event and to all the brothers and sisters from Harbor of Hope and the Crossing Church, who went out of their way to make the carnival games a special blessing for the children and their parents. Historically this small very dynamic church conducts wonderful outreaches; this year’s Jammin’ in the Park was no exception. Praise the Lord for the coming year and new beginnings in 2019 with Pastor JR and Shana! Welcome!

The City Life 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
Josh Mathews may be an Assistant Director of Youth For Christ (YFC) in Bremerton, but thankfully he has never ceased being a basketball player. This year, TTVF partnered with Josh and YFC to serve hamburgers to all those participating in City Life’s tournament. Not only was the Promise of Life Café well received among the players, but also by the Moms and their children strolling by in the park. Each person ordering from the café received a free Gospel of John; one little girl ordered a John 3:16 Burger and then recited the verse from memory for Charrise Beguelin. A special thanks to Josh at YFC and Seaside Church for organizing and leading this year’s event, to the Bremerton High School students who played in the tournament, and lastly, to those who cooked and served burgers.

2018 - Irrigation and Rhody Parades
The Sequim Irrigation Parade in May is the oldest parade in the state of Washington. For the last three years several local churches have came together to represent Jesus in the parade. Pastor Jonathan and Friends played live Christian music from a towed, decorated trailer. Others carried Biblical banners or drove vehicles displaying banners. Gospels of John and Jesus film DVD’s were passed out to the receptive parade onlookers. Our Ten Commandments trailer was not able to make it this year but we were joined by the DCC Recovery Group, with youth who helped pass out the Gospels and DVD’s.
A week later we participated in the Port Townsend Rhody Parade. This time the Ten Commandments trailer made it. All our entries had to be decorated with Rhododendrons, including the boat with the singing Christian children. Pastor Jonathan and Friends provided the music. Gospels of John and Jesus film DVD’s were passed out to the crowd.

2018 - Street Fairs, Festivals and Concerts
Many times you find us doing sound and helping at street fairs, festivals,
and concerts. We continue to try to be a part of what’s already happening
in our community and to encourage and share the love of Jesus Christ. There
are so many opportunities in our community to just step out and serve and
love people.
One of our favorite out reaches is the Give Back To The Community Benefit Concert. Gathering worship teams together and playing in a public arena blesses not only local churches, but the community also. This year we played at the Sequim Civic Center Plaza and raised awareness as well as donations for My Choices and the Sequim Food Bank. We usually do this event in July on a Sunday. Keep your eye out for flyers at your local church or just look us up on Facebook.
We desire the world to see the church function in a healthy unified manner, while reaching out and doing good works within our community. Just before He went to the cross, Jesus prayed for believers, that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me (John 17:21). Healthy relationships between brothers and sisters draw unbelievers to Christ. Thank you so much for all you do contribute and help so we can continue to serve and equip the Saints for the work of the ministry.
