Event Report: Mark Simpson

This year 2020, has been difficult for a lot of people. Fear of getting sick and possibly dying from Covid19 dominates people’s minds. It has effected ministries and churches. At the start of the pandemic I realized that where I want to be is not in a world of fear, but in a world of Yeshua’s grace and abundance. Like Elisha, I want a double portion of the Holy Spirit.

I've been involved in small group evangelism ministries this year. The PNW Christian Surfers teach kids and adults to surf and in the process lead people to Jesus through the Holy Spirit. A 60 year old man Bruce came to Jesus. Bruce loves to Surf but he found he had an emptiness in his heart that only Jesus could fill. Opportunities to shine the light of Jesus happen at my workplace all the time. I've also meet with local Young Life leaders to pray and talk about ministry opportunities in Clallam County. The Sequim Youth Skatepark Foundation gives me opportunities to love a group of hard-to-reach nonbelievers. Sharing eternal life in small groups makes sense in the middle of a pandemic.

As an artist and illustrator, I participated online in Inktober. The word "Hope" came up, and so I drew an ink illustration of Jesus as the Good Shepherd holding a lamb. Thousands of artists got to see Jesus as hope. Sharing the gospel, the good news of Jesus, requires seeking people around you, being truly aware of their needs and trusting the Holy Spirit to guide you. Yeshua come soon—I'm excited to see Your face.
