Bremerton
:
Josh Mathews leads City Life, a very important inner city mission
in the Bremerton/Silverdale area and hosts two City Life 3 on 3 Basketball Tournaments in
Bremerton. The Bremerton Community Carwashes
benefit City Life along with the Marvin Williams Center.
The Promise of Life Café provides burgers and the
gospel for both basketball tournaments.
Port Angeles
: Family Fun Fest
and Jammin In The Park reach out to youth from 4
to 12 years of age with games, carnival events and the gospel. Harbor of
Hope Pastor J.R. Van Proyen in Port Angeles organizes theJammin In The Park event; Family Fun Fest is overseen by Pastor Dave
Burrows and The Crossing Church. TTVF, through the youth ministry Team Red,
supports both of these outreaches and shares the simple message of John
3:16 using a youth track titled The Best News Ever. Last year, The Promise of Life Café served burgers and hot
dogs for the Family Fun Fest for the first time.
Port Townsend
:
The Weekly Street Outreach ministries in Port
Townsend and Sequim train brothers and sisters to share good news
extemporaneously with strangers. On Fridays at 11:00am, Dennis Feten
oversees and teaches evangelism at the Port Townsend outreach. Mark April
14th on your calendars for the Palm Sunday Parade in Port Townsend.
Walking down the main street in P.T. generates lots of enthusiasm; even the
very young can join in the fun and excitement. Jonathan Simonson and his
wife Kenda often host these parades with their music float. 2019 will mark
the 27th year for this parade
Sequim
:
Every year Mark McGriff organizes and leads a group of volunteers to
participate in the Irrigation Festival Parade in
Sequim. Jonathan and Kenda sing gospel music for this parade. Plan to join
Mark and his team on May 11th for a wonderful fun-filled day of
ministry. Mark teaches street evangelism in conjunction with the Weekly Street Outreach in Sequim on Saturdays at
11:00am. For Halloween and Christmas, he and his team make special goodie
bags to pass out on the streets of Sequim. The Pray Olympic Peninsula Team
(PrayOlyPen.org, formerly Clallam Prayer), along with churches and
community leaders will celebrate the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, 2019
at the Cole Family Farm. Join together with friends and neighbors to pray
for our country and our community. Dinner will be offered by The Promise of Life Cafe from 6pm-7pm. Prayer and
worship will follow until about 8pm. On Saturday July 13th from 10:00am to
4:00pm, Mark Simpson hosts and oversees theSequim Community Car Wash at Discount Tire in Sequim. All moneys donated to the car wash go to
support charities. Jonathan Simonson hosts and oversees the Give Back to the Community Benefit Concert on
Sunday, July 24th. Kid’s games, free burgers and Christian music
make for a very enjoyable outreach to the community; all donations go to
support My Choices and the Sequim Food Bank. Throughout
the summer Mark Simpson will host a series of Skate’n Burger fundraising events designed to
raise money to repair the Carrie Blake Skate Park. The Promise of Life Café serves burgers and the
gospel to hungry skaters and their families. Throughout the year, Mark
McGriff hosts the Supernatural Lecture Series at
the Sequim branch of NOLS Library (dates and times to be announced).
Participation in the Outreaches
Those wishing to participate in these Olympic and Kitsap Peninsula ministry
